EUROPE – FRANCE – PARIS
Fauchon has been a byword in gourmet circles for the very best produce, products and patisserie since it was founded by Auguste Fauchon in Paris in 1886. Still, at the same site on the Place de la Madeleine, the stature of Fauchon derives from its passion for classic tradition with a contemporary twist. More than 300 luxury dishes are created annually. World-famous for innovation and creativity in pastries, chocolates, and teas, it is only logical that the brand should open a ground-breaking hotel and restaurant also on the Place de la Madeleine.
And now the Fauchon evolution continues…with the magnificent inspiration to house all Fauchon products and culinary experiences under one roof in significant capitals around the world. The objective is to enable locals and travelers alike the opportunity to indulge in everything Fauchon both day and night.
The famous FAUCHON food purveyor launched its first hotel in September 2018. French architects, craftsmen, and designers have added a daring and elegant touch, representing the sophistication, style and joie de vivre of Fauchon. The arty feeling and glamorous ambiance have been tastefully created in blending the contemporary brand and the vision of young French artists and artisans.
THE TEA EXPERIENCE
How Fauchon incorporates tea into the guest experience.
Auguste Fauchon, the founder of the legendary Fauchon brand, was known for his incredible selection of tea. Not only did he import the finest teas from around the world, but, as a result of an agreement with Air France, he was able to import amazing fruits which he then used to create fruit-infused teas.
At the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris, guests can experience tea in so many ways. Many of the welcome libations for arriving guests feature tea. There is the afternoon tea and then at any time of the day or night, guests might order an iced tea, which is usually a themed tea of the day and features quite an amazing presentation. And after a spa treatment, guests can complete the experience with a fruit-infused tea and macarons.
AFTERNOON TEA
Fauchonizing traditional afternoon tea.
Fauchon’s Afternoon Tea is nothing short of spectacular. From the presentation in the elegant black lacquer boxes to the incorporation of both Fauchon’s trademark fruit-infused teas and freshly made patisserie including macarons, eclairs, Bisous Bisous, and more, this is one Afternoon Tea experience not to be missed. Afternoon Tea is €40 per person or €50 per person with a glass of Champagne. The menu can be downloaded here.
And did you know guests can now arrange to have Afternoon Tea onboard a private boat on the Seine? It’s €700 Euros to rent the boat plus the cost of Afternoon Tea.
NEW TEA SHOP ADJACENT TO HOTEL
Immerse yourself in Fauchon’s tea experience.
Auguste Fauchon made a name for himself because of his teas. Through a partnership with Air France, he was able to import many incredible fruits from other parts of the world, which he then incorporated into teas, making the world’s first fruit-infused tea. In November of 2019, a new Tea Boutique opened adjacent to the hotel providing an incredible entrée to the tea world for both novices and aficionados.
Here, visitors can create their own custom tea blend — or purchase one of the existing teas or blends and even add on some toppings like rosebud petals — and then bring their newly minted tea to the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris for afternoon tea. Details on the Afternoon Tea can be found here.
