Christian Louboutin announces the opening of his first pop-up boutique in Aspen, Colorado. Featuring both men’s and women’s collections, the temporary 453-square-foot space is a contemporary twist on the same aesthetic the designer has continued to develop in stores since the 1991 opening of his first boutique, in the Galerie Véro-Dorat in Paris.
While the facade is made of a rich dark wood to evoke the pop-up location’s surrounding landscape, the store has been imagined as an immersive red jewelry box outlined in shades of neon red. A spectacular metalwork display comprised of a series of arches creates a catwalk-like passage across the room, respectively dividing the men’s and women’s areas. At the end of the catwalk, as an unexpected photo moment, a disco ball hangs from the ceiling.
The quintessence of the Maison’s DNA is palpable through the space’s Parisian niches, red carpeting, and sophisticated top-glass plinths, which are accented with spike motifs and contrasted by raw elements of design such as OSB beacon panels. As an added touch from the designer, select windows and arches are adorned with patchworks of personal photos and sketches from his archives.
A trio of boots designed for conquering snowcapped trails will be available for purchase exclusively at the Christian Louboutin pop-up in Aspen, in addition to the latest shoes, leather goods, and accessories from the Spring-Summer 2020 men’s and women’s collections. A direct take on skiing style codes, the neoprene exteriors of these exclusive ‘After Snow Donna’ boot styles are toughened up with bold prints and studded embellishments.
The Christian Louboutin pop-up will be open in Aspen December 2019 through March 2020.
